In the digitalized age, a customer is the king and is spoilt for choices as there are plenty of online apps that deliver groceries at your doorstep in a very short span of time. For last minute grocery requirements, there are many apps such as Blinkit, Swiggy, Instamart and Zepto that deliver at your door step as it saves time and the hassle from asking the vendor for the right price.
A customer found a rat trapped inside the packet of bread delivered by Blinkit
For one of the users, ordering a packet of bread, however, turned out to be a really awefull experience. Instead of receiving a stale or expired foodstuff, Nitin Arora, the consumer, discovered a rat imprisoned within the packet that Blinkit had delivered.
Arora shared the aweful experience, along with a video and pictures, on the microblogging platform Twitter.
“Most unpleasant experience with Blinkit, where an alive rat was delivered inside the bread packet ordered on 1.2.23. This is alarming for all of us. If 10 minutes delivery has such baggage, @blinkitcares I would rather wait for a few hours than take such items.#blinkit #zomato,”
He also provided a screen grab of his conservation to the Blinkit customer care representative, who promised to escalate the issue for further investigation.
Support executive stated,
“Yes, I can see, your concern is genuine. I deeply apologise to you for this issue. We have noted this and will escalate it from our end. Your feedback for this specific incident has been noted and we will surely take corrective measures to improve the same,”
Twitter users in state of shock
Twitter users are shocked by Nitin Arora’s awful experience.
“As much as #EnglishOven and #Blinkit need to explain this. I wonder if our food safety authority actually audits these places time to time and checks for “Safety”,” wrote a user.
