Delhi Earthquake: The national capital experienced its was the third earthquake on Tuseday night within the last 20 days. According to the National Centre for Seismology, it had a minor magnitude of 2.5 and its epicentre was 8 kilometres west of New Delhi. However, Tremors were felt in the nation’s capital. A 6.3-magnitude earthquake that struck Nepal on November 9, left 6 dead and with that strong tremors were reported in and around Delhi.

Secondly, a 5.4 magnitude earthquake that rocked Nepal on November 12 caused vibrations to be felt in Delhi-NCR and some other northern states. Finally fed up after the earthquake yesterday, Twitter is turning to memes for frusturation. Three earthquakes in quick succession in a span of 20 days have made Delhiites asking for comfort while Delhi was already struggling with pollution and the winter season.
Though, this time the earthqauke was a minor one and did not result in any damage or injuries to any one, but, still it has given natives a cause of worry. Some areas of Delhi are densely populated with decades-old buildings, any major earthquake at any given time can cause casualities.
Which kind of earthquake are dangerous?
According to a report, there are roughly 15 large earthquakes with magnitudes greater than 7.0 per year. Since there were only seven of these earthquakes recorded in the first ten months of 2022, it can be said that the frequency of these catastrophes falls within the normal range.
In the meantime, on November 23, Delhi awoke to the season’s coldest morning, with a low of 8 degrees Celsius and “poor” air quality.
