It was a day of horror in Udaipur on Tuesday when two Muslim men killed a Hindu tailor in broad daylight at his shop for supporting Nupur Sharma. Rajasthan government had asked for an immediate police action and as a result the killer duo was also arrested. But since then there have been multiple reports that say the killers have links with some terrorist groups in Pakistan.
“Investigation into the savage Udaipur murder has revealed links of the two self-radicalized murderers with Karachi-based Sunni Islamist organization Dawat-e-Islami, which has links with Barelvi pan-Islamic Tehreek-e-Labbaik extremist organization in Pakistan, according to people familiar with the investigation,” as quoted saying by Hindustan Times.
The two accused were arrested at Rajsamand, on their way to shoot another video at the Ajmer Sharif shrine following the killing of tailor supporting alleged blasphemy.
In another development, the wife and the relatives of the dead want the two men death sentence immediately.
Reacting to the horrific crime, Kanhaiya Lal’s wife Yashoda demanded that the culprits be sentenced to death.
“We demand those people who murdered him (Kanhaiya Lal) should be hanged to death, we demand their death sentence and need justice,” said Yashoda, a day after her husband was beheaded on a street of Udaipur.

“We want that either their (murderers) encounter should happen or they should be hanged to death. It’s needed to instill fear in them,” said Lal’s son.
Another relative said, “The accused should be punished, otherwise these people will get encouraged to commit more such crimes. The accused should be given such a punishment that no one dares to commit such an incident again .”
Lal’s wife also said that he had been receiving death threats for past few days and few people had even come to his house and shop to threaten him.
For the last 10-15 days he was getting life threats. They said that they would kill him. People used to come at home and his shop to threaten him. He was threatened over the phone as well,” she said. Lal had also filed a complaint with police about the threats.
However, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also taken over the the probe as Union home ministry directed the anti-terror agency to “thoroughly investigate” the involvement of any organisation or international linkages in connection with the incident.
A four-member NIA team has also reached in Udaipur for further investigation.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is also set to visit Udaipur on Friday. CM Gehlot will meet the family of Kanhaiya Lal.
