Udhayanidhi Stalin: The DMK leader sparked controversy by referring to the need to eradicate sanatana dharma and comparing it to “malaria” and “dengue,” and Paramhans Acharya, an Ayodhya-based seer, promised on Tuesday to increase the bounty from the previously announced Rs 10 crore reward ‘for Udhayanidhi Stalin’s head. The Ayodhya seer threatened Udhayanidhi Stalin, a minister in the governing DMK government, once more, saying, “If Rs 10 crore is not enough for beheading him (Udhayanidhi), I will increase the reward, but the insult of ‘sanatana dharma’ will not be tolerated.” The Ayodhya seer demanded an apology from the DMK minister, claiming that Udhayanidhi had offended 100 crore people in the country with his views about Sanatana Dharma.”Whatever development has taken place in the country is because of ‘Sanatana Dharma’. He should apologise for his statement. He has hurt the sentiments of 100 crore people in the country,” Paramhans Acharya said, as quoted by news agency ANI.
Seer Offers Rs. 10 Crore Bounty for Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Head Amidst Sanatana Dharma Controversy
Tamil Nadu minister Udhayanidhi Stalin called out a Hindu seer from Ayodhya who offered a reward of Rs. 10 crore “for his head” after coming under heat for his comments on “Sanatana Dharma” Ayodhya-based seer Paramhans Acharya published a video in which he can be seen staging the symbolic beheading of the DMK minister while carrying a picture of Udhayanidhi in one hand and a sword in the other. Additionally, he was spotted igniting the poster. Anyone who beheads the DMK leader will receive a reward of Rs 10 crore, according to the seer.
Seer’s Bounty and Udhayanidhi’s Counter
Reacting to the video, Udhayanidhi said, “Today a swamy (seer) announced Rs 10 crore bounty for my head. He said whoever beheads Udayanidhi will get Rs 10 crore. Is he a real saint or a duplicate one? Why do you like my head so much? From where are you getting so much money? Why are you announcing Rs 10 crore to comb my hair? I will do it on my own if you give me a Rs 10 comb.” The DMK minister, however, insisted that he did not attack the Hindu community in his remarks on the Sanatana Dharma.
Udhayanidhi’s Unwavering Resolve
“I will again and again talk on the issue that I spoke at the event on Saturday. I will speak more. I told that day itself that I am going to talk about the issue which is going to irritate many and that is what has happened,” he told reporters. He asserted that Sanatana Dharma meant that it was unalterable and everlasting. “Women were confined indoors but they have come out. They said women cannot get education, only Dravidam (the DMK’s ideology) gave them education. Even the breakfast scheme (in Tamil Nadu) is to ensure more children, especially girls, get education,” Udhayanidhi said.
