Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who arrived in Varanasi on Friday, informed about the Kashi-Tamil Sangamam, which will start from November 17. He said that all languages have been given importance in the National Education Policy. Realizing this importance, a month-long Kashi-Tamil Sangamam is being organized in Kashi.
Speaking to the media at the Circuit House, the Union Minister said that this Sangamam, to be organized under the overall framework and spirit of Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat, will create a bridge between ancient India and the contemporary generation. He said that Kashi Sangamam will re-connect the link between these two ancient centers of knowledge, culture and heritage.
A total of 2500 people in 12 groups from three centers across Tamil Nadu are being invited to the one month long event. Told that the groups coming from Tamil Nadu will understand the historical importance of Kashi. During this various cultural groups of Tamil Nadu will organize their cultural program in Kashi.
Apart from this, small businessmen from Tamil Nadu will bring their stalls to Kashi and carry forward their business activities. He told that apart from Kashi, the group will also go to Prayagraj and Ayodhya, where they will be able to know about the culture.
Kashi Tamil Sangamam will focus on these topics
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan informed that in the one month long Kashi Tamil Sangamam program academic exchanges- seminars, discussions etc. will be organized between experts/scholars on various aspects of these two ancient manifestations of Indian culture. It will focus on bringing forward the shared values and ties between the two.
Its overarching objective is to bring these two traditions of knowledge and culture closer, build an understanding of our shared heritage and strengthen people-to-people ties between these regions.
Kashi-Tamil Sangamam covers various aspects of knowledge – literature, ancient texts, philosophy, spirituality, music, dance, drama, yoga, ayurveda, handloom, handicrafts as well as modern innovations, trade exchanges, edutech and other next generation technology etc. will be focused on subjects like. Seminars, discussions, lectures, workshops etc. will be organized on these topics, for which experts of the concerned subjects will be invited.
