Nitin Gadkari’s Vision for Highway Development and Water Management in Punjab
Regarding the ongoing highway developments in Punjab, Nitin Gadkari has provided comprehensive details. In addition, he has provided Punjab and Haryana with a solution to their water problem. India has an abundance of water, according to Gadkari. Three rivers belonged to India’s share and three to Pakistan’s share after independence, however water from India’s share continues to reach Pakistan. We can supply water to Rajasthan and Haryana if we manage that water.
Expanding Infrastructure and Connectivity
Apart from this, while giving information from his Twitter account, he said, “A major feature of this corridor includes Asia’s longest 1300 meter long cable stay bridge on the Beas river. This expressway will connect the major religious places of the Sikh community, Golden Temple, Kapurthala. Mata Ka Darbar Vaishno Devi Katra will be built connecting Sultanpur Lodhi Gurdwara, Goindwal Sahib Gurdwara, Khandur Sahib Gurdwara, Gurdwara Darbar Sahib (Tarn Taran) in the district. 50 km, 4-lane Amritsar bypass work is being built at a cost of Rs 1475 crore. “It is in progress. With its construction, there will be better connectivity from Tarn Taran to Amritsar Airport. This bypass will prove to be effective in solving the traffic problem of Amritsar. This route will improve the connectivity, transportation and infrastructure of Amritsar.”
