Unnao Bus Accident: In the deadly road accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in the Unnao district, a bus and a milk tanker collided. The evidence indicates that on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, a sleeper bus traveling from Shivgarh, Bihar, to Delhi collided with a tanker on the runway near the Behta Mujawar police station. While overtaking a milk tanker on the left side of the freeway, an accident occurred. Eighteen people, including a youngster of approximately ten years old and two women, perished in the bus tragedy. About twenty passengers had major injuries. There were about a hundred people sitting in the bus, including kids.

Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts

Around 6:00 AM in the morning on Wednesday, a sleeper bus operated by a travel agency from Mahoba district, which was traveling from Shivhar, Bihar, to Delhi, arrived at the airstrip in front of Jogikot village in the Behta Mujawar police station area. While passing a tanker traveling from Lucknow to Agra, the bus struck one.The bus and the tanker were completely destroyed in the collision since it was so violent. The bus’s driver’s side sustained damage from front to back as a result of the high speed. Nineteen individuals were hurt and eighteen people died while seated and lying on the chairs.

PM Announces Ex-Gratia for Unnao Victims

PM Modi said, “The Prime Minister has announced an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF for the next of kin of each deceased in the mishap in Unnao. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000.” Previously he tweeted that, “The road accident in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh is extremely painful. My condolences to those who have lost their loved ones in this. May God give them strength in this difficult time. Along with this, I wish for the speedy recovery of the injured. Under the supervision of the state government, the local administration is engaged in helping the victims in every possible way.”

Unnano DM Gaurang Rathi says “Today at around 05.15 AM, a private bus coming from Motihari, Bihar collided with a milk tanker. 18 people have lost their lives and 19 others are injured in the accident. After the initial investigation, it looks like the bus was overspeeding. The injured are getting treatment…”

CM Yogi Adityanath Expresses Deep Grief

The Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath has expressed grief over the Unnao accident and has given necessary instructions to the officials. On “X” the CM has written that ,”The loss of life in the road accident in Unnao district is extremely sad and heart-rending. My condolences are with the bereaved families. The district administration officials have been instructed to reach the spot and expedite the relief work. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to give a place to the departed souls in his lotus feet and speed up the recovery of the injured.”

President Droupadi Murmu Expresses Deep Condolences

The President of India Droupadi Murmu Tweeted, “The news of the death of many people in a road accident on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh is extremely sad. I express my deepest condolences to the family members of those who have become victims of such sudden death and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
