The Yogi Adityanath government has ordered the removal of all the illegal religious structures built along the roads.
The state has said that these encroachments are built illegally in the name of reilious structures. The structures built after January 1, 2011 and after will be removed without delay, the state ordered.
The directions has been given by UP Additional Chief Secretary Home Avinash Awasthi gave these directions in his letter to all district chiefs.
The division commissioners and district magistrates have been asked to submit their report by March 14, adding how many religious places have been removes after the order.
According to several media reports, there are thousands of illegal structures that have come up on roadsides over the years. The officials said that these structures gradually expand and has become permanent, adding to further encroachment of land.
