Uttarakhand News:In some unfortunate news coming from Uttarakhand, 15 people lost their lives after transformer exploded. The deceased includes Policemen and Home Guards. The incident took place at the Namani Gange Project in Pipalkoti. The ADG Law and order says, a total of 15 people have been electrocuted which includes 3 Sub Inspectors, a Home Guard, further investigations are underway.

Injured being Airlifted to AIIMS Rishikesh

The incident happened when a transformer exploded near the banks of Alaknanda river. According to the eyewitnesses there was a current in the railing and many people are still feared to be trapped. Rescue teams have reached the spot and started the rescue operations. The injured have been admitted to the near by hospital. Others are shifted to the AIIMS Rishikesh via helicopter.

Magisterial Enquiry ordered into the incident

Magisterial inquiry also ordered in the incident. The tragedy occurred as continuous down pour battered the city for the last nine days. The water level of the Alaknanda river rose due to continuous rains in the city for the last few days. People have been advised to stay away from river banks and take proper precautions while stepping out of their houses.
