New Delhi: A 19-year-old girl working as a receptionist at a private resort in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal, has been missing since September 18. Three people, including the resort owner and the manager, have been arrested in the case of the missing woman after they confessed to pushing the woman into the canal. But the events took a political turn after the Congress alleged that one of the accused has links to the BJP.
The girl was employed as a receptionist at the exclusive resort in the Laxman Jhula region. She was a native of Srikot village in Pauri Garhwal. On September 18, her family reported her missing when she was unable to be located.

Three days later, on September 21, a FIR was filed based on the unfiled complaint. The resort owner and the other two suspects have been absent, according to the authorities, since the girl vanished.
Three persons, including resort owner Pulkit Arya, assistant manager Ankit Gupta, and manager Saurabh Bhaskar, were detained by the police earlier in the day. She perished as a result of the accused confessing to pushing her into a canal during a domestic disagreement, according to the police.
“The girl was missing for five days. The area falls under the revenue police jurisdiction. A missing complaint was filed with the revenue police. The case was transferred to Laxman Jhula Police on Thursday and within 24 hours all three accused were arrested,” Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar told India Today.
