The Union Education Minister has stated that most of the states are in favor of organising CBSE board exams. Meanwhile, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has stated that if health experts clear anti-Covid vaccine jabs for 17.5-year-olds, then all Class 12 students across the country must be vaccinated before the CBSE exams.
“During the meeting, I demanded making arrangements for vaccinating Class 12 students before board exams at a meeting with the central government. Conducting the examination by toying with students’ safety will prove to be a big mistake. The first vaccine, then exams,” Sisodia said.
Sisodia has an Education portfolio, also made the demand of high-level virtual meet with the Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and other Union Ministers along with state education ministers to deliberate on the conduct of the exams.
The Delhi Minister said that nearly 95 per cent of Class 12 students are above age 17.5 and if the Centre approves the age limit then we should go ahead with their vaccination.
Delhi government has extended the lockdown till May 31 and CM Kejriwal has said that the cases are continuously dipping and if the trend continues then the unlock phase may start after May 31.
