Telugu actor Chandra Mohan, a distinguished figure in the industry, has sadly passed away today, 11th November, due to a cardiac arrest while undergoing heart-related treatments at Hyderabad’s Apollo Hospital. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
According to Apollo PRO Jagan, the actor breathed his last at 9.57 am on Saturday. The final farewell and last rites are scheduled for 13th November in Hyderabad.

PM Modi taking to Twitter wrote, “deeply saddened by the demise of noted Telugu actor Shri Chandra Mohan Garu. He was a luminary of the world of cinema. His powerful performances and unique charisma enchanted audiences for generations. His departure leaves a void in the creative world that will be hard to fill. My thoughts are with his family and countless admirers. Om Shanti.”
The Telugu film industry is in mourning, with notable figures expressing their condolences. Megastar Chiranjeevi shared his sadness and heartfelt memories, while RRR actor Jr NTR called Chandra Mohan’s death untimely and offered his condolences. Actor Sai Tej Dharam remembered Chandra Mohan’s memorable acting and characters with a sincere tribute.
Chandra Mohan Career:
Chandra Mohan, born as Mallampalli Chandrasekhar Rao in 1943, had an illustrious career spanning 932 films, with 150 of them featuring him in the lead role. He received 2 Nandi Awards and one Filmfare Award South. His notable films include ‘Shankarabharanam,’ ‘Seethaamalakshmi,’ ‘Padaharella Vayasu,’ ‘Siri Siri Muvva,’ and ‘Chandamama Raave.’ He left an indelible mark on Telugu cinema with his versatile acting skills. May his soul rest in peace.
