Viral Video: In a scene reminiscent of the hit film Baahubali, a video is going viral of a man carrying a baby in a basket over his head and crossing the flooded village. The toddler is calmly lying in the tub as his rescuer wades through several metres of water.
Heavy rainfall and floods are continuing perpetually and creating chaos in many parts of Telengana. As the rescue operations continue in the flood-affected parts, dramatic visuals are being witnessed. In a dramatic scene strikingly similar to Baahubali, a man was seen carrying on his head a plastic tub with a three-month-old baby boy wrapped in warm clothes inside.
The baby was first stranded in the flood water, eventually rescued by a rescue worker in neck deep water in Manthani, a town in the Peddapalli district of Telangana on Thursday. The family then shifted the infant to a safer place by carrying the baby in a tub. A woman, who appears to be the mother of the baby, is also seen wading through the flood water with the help of another man.
The flood situation in Telangana is worsening by the day. Several villages and some towns have been left submerged by overflowing bodies of water. The Northern Telangana region has been reeling from heavy rains causing water to flow over roads, cutting off remote villages while normal life remains static.
Inundation of villages and parts of some towns in the worst affected districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, and Jagtiyal have forced hundreds of families to move to safer places. Heavy rainfall and floods have led to incidents of houses collapsing, disrupted electricity supply, and caused widespread damage to crops.
