Viral Video: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting at his residence with the athletes who would represent India at Paris Olympics 2024. From what came out of that, it seemed like the meeting was certainly one of both entertainment and informative dialogue. PM Modi engaged with the athletes on their preparation and expectations from the upcoming games. However, it was a specific clip from this interaction that has taken over social media by storm.
PM Modi Discusses Mobile Phone Use with Paris Olympics Athletes
In the viral video shared by Ankur Singh on X, PM Modi discussed the increasing influence of the mobile phone in their lives with the athletes. He asked them how much time they spent using their mobile phones and if they made or watched reels. His purpose for asking this question was to tell them about the modern-day distractions. One of the athletes replied that the Indian Olympic team had decided that, as a united force, they would not use mobile phones or social media so as to maintain concentration and discipline during the Paris Olympics.
Nodding to the reply of the athlete, PM Modi said there were too many distractions, adding that the athletes must spread this message among the young in India. “Have a distance from the ‘Chunavi’ media as much as possible,” he told the athletes, explaining that distancing from excesses of social media could be a good thing. PM Modi’s message was one of reinforcing the lesson about concentration and focus—something he wants the young not to lose out by getting enchanted with digital distractions.
PM Modi Shares Reflections on Meeting with Paris Olympics Athletes
Along with the viral video, PM Modi also took to X and shared his reflections from the meeting. He praised PR Sreejesh as ‘The Wall’ for his excellence; Modi also admired the determination of the athletes, saying that even those who could not win gold were determined to try and get it.
It showed how the athletes were preparing themselves, but at the same time, it carried a motivational message from the PM on the need to be focused and working hard.
