Highly skilled veteran actress Waheeda Rehman has made tremendous contributions to the world of entertainment spanning her career over more than five decades. She has been blessed with prestigious accolades earlier like Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan. Her long-standing legacy has brought her to this moment when she will now be honored with the Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award.
In a recent update on X (formerly called Twitter), the I & B minister Anurag Thakur showered words of appreciation on the legendary actress and announced the big news. The politician said, “I feel an immense sense of happiness and honour in announcing that Waheeda Rehman ji is being bestowed with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Lifetime Achievement Award this year for her stellar contribution to Indian Cinema.” He went on to describe her tremendous feats and humble nature exhibited through her philanthropic activities. He also talked about how this Lifetime Achievement by the actress marks a milestone moment in history as it collides with the ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam.’
