Weather Update: Winter is in full swing as we enter the final week of December. Delhi will see a chilly wave over the next two days, according to the Meteorological Department. In contrast, chilly to extremely cold weather is prevalent in Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, heavy fog is also a possibility.
In addition, several areas of Delhi and the NCR may continue to have frigid days over the coming days. The Western Himalayas are anticipated to experience two consecutive Western Disturbances. The first one will occur on December 26 and 27, and the second one will occur around December 30, but neither one is expected to have a significant rainfall impact on the northern plains, including Delhi and the NCR.
Delhi
As the coldwave sets in for the national capital, the temperatures are predicted to remain continuosly on the lower side. The fog will continue to heavily impact the late night and morning. For today, the maximum temperature will be 19 degrees and minimum will be 6 degrees.
Mumbai
The city and its suburbs will continue to remain int heir usual pattern and away from what’s taking place in rest of the parts. The sky will be clear today with a bright day. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees and 21 degrees.
Chennai
IMD predicts that rainfall will continue to impact the city for today and a couple of days more. This will also result in decent cloud cover taking place over the city. The maximum temperature for today will be 29 degrees, while the minimum will be 24 degrees.
Kolkata
IMD has predicted that Kolkata will follow the continous weather pattern just like some previous days. The city will, thus, remain partly cloudy today as well. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees and minimum will be 20 degrees.

What is the weather update for rest of the states?
Both Gujarat and Rajasthan’s lowest temperatures could fall, which could make the morning and evening chill of winter worse. Over Arunachal Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and one or two locations over Tamil Nadu, light to moderate rain is possible. Over the Western Himalayas, light rain may fall. One or two locations in Punjab, Haryana, Saurashtra, and Kutch may experience cold wave conditions. In Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, it may be cold or extremely cold.
