Weather Update: Monday’s cold wave and dense fog in certain places of Delhi reduced visibility to only 50 metres, which had an impact on both road and rail operations.North India is still suffering from the cold. The Meteorological Department has forecast cold wave conditions for the next two days after severe cold was reported in numerous locations in Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab.

People can be seen currently using bonfires to stay warm throughout the bitter winter.

IMD predicts that during the course of the next 48 hours, dense to very dense fog will likely cover portions of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and West Rajasthan. East Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh will also continue to see dense fog, which will cause the temperature to drop quickly.

Delhi

The coldwave and fog will continue to affect the NCR citizens for today as well. The effect, too, will be similar just like yesterday. For today, the maximum temperature will be 21 degrees and the minimum will be 8 degrees.

Mumbai

Mumbai is experiencing cold breezes along with the partly cloudy sky since last couple of days. The similar weather pattern is likely to continue today as well. The maximum temperature for today will be 31 degrees and minimum will be 22 degrees.

Chennai

IMD predicts that Chennai will be lashed by moderate rainfall today. The situation is likely to improve in the upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 24 degrees.

Kolkata

Kolkata is predicted to remain bright and sunny for today. IMD does not predict any significant change in weather pattern. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees and minimum will be 19 degrees.

Following a dry week and scattered rainfall, the Regional Meteorological Center in Chennai has forecast moderate rains for Chennai and other parts of the state. Rain has forced numerous districts to close many schools. Lakshadweep, South Coastal Tamil Nadu, and South Kerala may see heavy rains.
