Weather Update: Heavy rain is expected in isolated areas in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, and Lakshadweep.Thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) are extremely possible across Kerala, Mahe, and Lakshadweep; with lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.Squally weather (speeds reaching 40-45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph) is expected to prevail over the Southeast Arabian Sea and the adjacent Lakshadweep area. Fishermen should avoid going into these locations. Dense fog is quite possible in isolated pockets over Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh on the 8th and 9th of December, and over Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on the 9th and 10th.

Light to moderate rainfall is expected in several spots across Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura today, with isolated heavy rains also possible in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.
Light to moderate rainfall, with isolated thunderstorms and lightning, is expected over Kerala and Mahe during the next five days, and over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, and Lakshadweep over the following three days. Isolated heavy rainfall is also extremely likely over Kerala and Tamil Nadu on the 8th and 9th of December, as well as over Lakshadweep on the 8th.
