Weather Update: The IMD issued an orange warning for lightning, thunderstorms, and rain in nine districts, including Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Subarnapur, and Boudh on Thursday. Two western disturbances will become active over the following two days beginning March 21, clearing the weather. After 2-3 days, its effects will be felt throughout the country’s central areas. The IMD said nine districts – Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Subarnapur, and Boudh – would also have rain on Thursday. According to the IMD, the weather in Delhi and Patna will remain rather stable in the next days. Also, the sky will be cloudy.

IMD anticipates isolated or scattered light rain or snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Isolated light rain is likely in Punjab, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh. Isolated hailstorms are highly likely over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh. On March 21, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh will most likely have strong surface winds (25-35 kmph). Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, as well as Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, are expected to have widespread mild to moderate rainfall, with isolated thunderstorms and lightning. Cities like Kolkata and Chennai are likely to have high rainfall on Thursday.
