Weather Update: In a number of North Indian states, winter has arrived. A slow but steady decrease in temperature has been seen. Temperatures have dropped significantly over the past few days in areas like Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana.
The problems of the population have also worsened due to the cold wave and fog. On December 17, the Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a forecast stating that a cold wave would continue for the following four days in numerous states, including Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.
Delhi
The national capital will remain sunny and a bit of haziness will continue to prevail in the city. Fog will continue to impact the commuters in the morning. For today, the maximum temperature will be 23 degrees and minimum will be 8 degrees.
Mumbai
The city and its suburbs will experience partially cloudy-ness throughout the day. However, there are no chances of rain happening for a few more days. No other change in weather pattern is predicted for th day. Today’s maximum temperature will be 34 degrees and minimum will be 25 degrees.
Chennai
With humidity soaring upto 70%, Chennai is predicted to remain moderately cloudy throughout the day. IMD has also predicted that rains will start lashing the city from the upcoming tuesday. Today’s maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while minimum will be 24 degrees.
Kolkata
Continuing its string of pleasant days, Kolkata will experience a bright day. Unlike other cities where weather is reaching to the extremes, the city will remain rather similar. For today, the maximum temperature will be 27 degrees while minimum will be 16 degrees.

Following states to have a weather change
The next four days will see a cold wave in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, western portions of Haryana, and northern Rajasthan, according to the Meteorological Department (IMD). Aside from this, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Tripura will have intense fog in the morning and evening for the next two days.
Some districts in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Madhya Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan have had minimum temperatures between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. While there have been light showers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
