Weather Update: After experiencing a strong cold wave over the previous several days, certain areas of northwest India experienced some respite. No cold wave conditions are anticipated over north India for the upcoming week, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). Meanwhile, a powerful western disturbance is anticipated to hit the northwest Indian plains between January 23 and 27. It is expected to start in the western himalayan region on January 21.
According to IMD’s most recent meteorological forecast, an active western disturbance will continue to have an impact on snowfall in Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The meteorological department further predicted that from January 24 to January 27 there would likely be mild to moderate rainfall throughout Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi.
Delhi
Most of the national capital has observed some relief as the temperature has climbed up. The similar weather trend will continue today as well, though sky will continue to be partially cloudy. For today, the maximum temperature will be 21 degrees while the minimum will be 9 degrees.
Mumbai
The city and its vicinity will likely continue to see similar weather patterns, according to IMD. Currently, no significant change is expected. It will be a beautiful and bright day today as well. 28 degrees will be the maximum and 19 degrees will be the minimum temperatures for today.
Chennai
IMD predicts Chennai too be on similar cards as well. Not much of a change has been predicted by IMD for upcoming days, which marks the weather to continue to remain pleasant. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 23 degrees.
Kolkata
Kolkata will remain partially cloudy in the isolated regions, while most of the city will be sunny. As per the latest weather update, temperature is expected to climb a few notches in the upcoming week. For today, the maximum temperature will be 28 degrees and minimum will be 17 degrees.

The weather will continue to abate from coldwave today but the rains and hailstorm, which are predicted to lash the region in couple of days, are predicted to lower the temperature. Also, the weather change is likely to continue for three-four days, which will make the situation even more intense.
