Weather Update: Kerala is currently experiencing the opposite climatic extreme from when it was recently flooded with severe rainfall: scorching heat. The coastal state’s temperatures are rising to unheard-of heights just as summer is starting, alarming locals greatly. Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) said that several places in the southern portion of the state have a heat index of over 54 degrees Celsius, raising the risk of a heatwave in the area.
India can expect a wet spell in the coming days as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts light to moderate rainfall, along with thunderstorms and hailstorms, over various parts of the country. The predicted rainfall is expected to hit south, central, east and northeast India between March 15 and 17.
Delhi
Then national capital is predicted to remain mostly clear today. However, some regions could experience cloudy sky as well. The next few days are also predicted to be covered with clouds. For today, the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees and minimum will be 19 degrees.
Mumbai
As per the latest weather update, Mumbai and suburbs are predicted to remain partly overcast today. Showers are possible in the isolated regions. For today, the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees.
Chennai
IMD has predicted that Chennai will remain clear today, also, no significant change is expected in weather trends for today. The maximum temperature, for today, will be 32 degrees and minimum will be 26 degrees.
Kolkata
Kolkata is predicted to remain partially cloudy today. However, the weather will still remain warmer today as no change is forecast in them. For today, the maximum temperature will be 36 degrees and minimum will be 25 degrees.
