Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant rainfall in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for the next five days. Due to a cyclonic circulation in the Bay of Bengal, the islands are expected to experience heavy to very heavy rainfall from May 8 to May 13. Additionally, IMD forecasts light to moderate rainfall in Kerala, Mahe, and Karnataka over the next five days, while Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal will receive rainfall on May 8.
Kerala and Mahe will see heavy rains in isolated areas during the next five days, and South Interior Karnataka will experience heavy rainfall on May 8. According to the IMD, a rise of 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in maximum temperatures is expected across the majority of the country. Nevertheless, there is no indication of heatwave conditions occurring within the next five days.
Delhi
Delhi, the national capital, is forecast to be sunny, clear and bright today. IMD has projected that this kind of weather will now sustain for the whole week. The sky will remain clear mostly. For today, the maximum temperature will be 38 degrees and the minimum will be 23 degrees.
Mumbai
Mumbai and its suburbs will remain partly overcast today. However, the weather will remain mostly warm and humidity will stand at 73%. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and the minimum will be 29 degrees.
Chennai
As per the latest weather update, Chennai is projected to remain mostly sunny. However, some patches of clouds are likely to take on the city during the evening. Humidity will be at 81% while the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees and the minimum will be 28 degrees.
Kolkata
IMD has stated that Kolkata will remain mostly sunny and clear today. Humidity will remain at 71%. However, the maximum temperature will be 39 degrees and the minimum will be 28 degrees.
