Weather Update: India Meteorological Department (IMD) data indicates that Delhi has been experiencing a heatwave for the past four days. There is a good news that it may rain today. The latest meteorological disturbance forecast to reach North India has led the IMD to predict light rain and drizzle in Delhi on Friday. There is a possibility of partially overcast skies with elevated humidity and the potential for light rain showers in the evening or night as per the forecast by the IMD for Mumbai and the adjacent areas. In many regions of India, including the Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, the heatwave is expected to be persistent.

IMD forecasts that few parts of West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya are expected to experience heavy rainfall. There is an also chance of heavy rainfall in Kerala, Tripura, Nagaland, Manipur, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In certain areas of Bihar, there is a high probability of heat waves and even severe heat waves. Similarly, there are isolated heat wave conditions in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand.
