Weather Update: Gruelling Heat Wave in Delhi NCR, Yellow Alert in Lucknow and Patna; Check Conditions in Mumbai and Ranchi

Weather Update: The meteorological department reports that there could be a probability of rain and thunder in central India. The India Meteorological Department has forecasted that during the next five days, heatwave conditions are likely over Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. However Delhi NCR is expected to be worst affected. The weather bureau has predicted that Delhi would see mostly sunny skies today, with a maximum of about 42 degrees Celsius. In the selected regions of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand (including Ranchi), West Bengal and Odisha, a yellow alert has been issued. The capital city of Bihar (Patna) and Uttar Pradesh (Lucknow) are under the same alert.

The Meteorological Department reports that there will be probably isolated areas of heavy rainfall in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. However the same is predicted for the isolated parts of Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Karnataka and Kerala. There is a high probability of heat wave conditions ranging from severe to extreme in certain areas of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana. The isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, and Gujarat State are also expected to see the same. Meanwhile West Bengal is predicted to experience hot weather today. Squally weather with wind speeds of 40 to 45 kmph is expected to be predominant in the Comorin area, the coasts of south Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka. A significant amount of rainfall is also expected in Mumbai.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the current temperature in Delhi NCR is about 40 degrees, and it might rise to 45 degrees.
