Weather Update: According to IMD, there is a possibility that the states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka may see rainfall. There is a warning in effect due to exceptionally high rainfall. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also issued a red alert on Friday due to extremely high rainfall expected in Kerala on May 20. Meanwhile the forecast of IMD stated that the Kerala and Tamil Nadu is on yellow alert for today. For the next few days, there are no indications of rain in the Delhi-NCR, which could exacerbate the situation for locals who are already suffering from the extreme heat. However the rising heat conditions is likely to continue in Delhi NCR. IMD predicts that the city’s temperature will most likely stay around 45 degrees Celsius in the upcoming days.

According to the IMD, there will likely be heavy rainfall in the selected parts of Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep and isolated areas of heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Karnataka. The heat waves is expected in the selected areas of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh (including Lucknow), Sikkim, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. It is quite possible that Goa, Jharkhand( including Ranchi), Odisha, Assam and Tripura will have hot weather conditions in the day time. It is highly probable that several areas of Uttar Pradesh may experience warm nighttime temperatures.
