Weather Update: For severe rains in many of India’s northern and central states, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an Orange and Red alert. The meteorological department issued a warning, stating that thundershowers with lightning are likely to occur over parts of Jharkhand and Bihar, including districts like Patna, Ranchi, Bokaro, Dumka, Nalanda, and Buxar. According to the Met office, Delhi will see cloudy sky, sporadic rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts, the gloomy weather is expected to persist, with moderate rains anticipated in Mumbai and its surrounding areas.

According to the IMD, Uttarakhand will likely see isolated areas of heavy to extremely high rainfall. The India Meteorological Department reports that isolated areas in Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, and Karnataka have seen heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. In some areas of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and West Bengal, severe rainfall is predicted by IMD.
