Weather Update: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Red Alert for many districts in several states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Madhya Pradesh, due to widespread light to heavy rainfall and thundershowers in the West, Central, East, and South Peninsular India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a “red” Alert for areas of Maharashtra, including Thane, Palghar, and Raigad. Mumbai is currently experiencing intense rainfall and significant waterlogging. There is a probability of rain, with mild to heavy precipitation expected in several areas of Delhi-NCR. Due to recent rainfall, commuters may experience waterlogging in a few locations of Delhi.

According to IMD, there may likely be isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall across Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa. The India Meteorological Department said that isolated areas in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha are expected to see heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. IMD forecasts heavy precipitation in isolated areas across the states including Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh including Lucknow.

As per the IMD forecast, Kolkata is likely to have cloudy sky with few spells of rainfall in the city. However Dehradun would have heavy rain while Delhi may face moderate rainfall today.
