Weather Update: In the northern and central regions of India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted significant rainfall and thunderstorms. On some occasions in early July, IMD has released forecasts for extremely severe, isolated rainfall across multiple regions. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate to heavy rainfall is predicted for Delhi and the neighbouring National Capital Region (NCR), which includes Noida, Gurugram, and Faridabad, today. The same is predicted for Lucknow and Ranchi. According to the Regional Meteorological Centre, there will be light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in one or two locations throughout Tamil Nadu, including Chennai.

The IMD predicts that Bengaluru residents will see moderate to heavy rains along with thunderstorms and lightning. IMD forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in some parts of Karnataka, with extremely high falls anticipated in isolated locations. The India Meteorological Department reports that some locations in Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka have heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. IMD also forecasts severe precipitation in isolated areas over Gujarat, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.
