Weather Update: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), certain regions in central, northeast and east India are predicted to see a protracted period of heavy to extremely severe rains. With immediate effect, the Pune and Satara districts are under a red alert for heavy rain, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is predicted to be very widespread over Delhi.

IMD forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Arunachal Pradesh, with isolated areas likely to see exceptionally heavy falls. The India Meteorological Department predicts that there will likely be isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in Assam, Meghalaya, Gujarat, certain areas of Maharashtra, and some areas of Karnataka. In certain areas of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, Gujarat, Kerala, some areas of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and some areas of Karnataka, heavy rainfall is predicted by IMD to occur in isolated places.

Mumbai is expected to see heavy to extremely heavy rains, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). In retaliation, authorities declared a holiday for all educational institutions under the control of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).It is also extremely possible that Ranchi and Lucknow may get heavy rainfall.
