Weather update: The Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds over northwest, central, and south India during the course of the next few days. In northwest India, rain and thunderstorms are likely to continue over northwest India until May 31.
“Light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms lightening and occasional gutsy winds/squall very likely over Northwest India during 28th-31st May with peak activity on 29th and 30th May and reduction thereafter,” the IMD said in its weather bulletin.
Similar weather conditions are to prevail over the central part of India. “Light/moderate isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorm/lightening/gutsy winds very likely over Madhya Pradesh during next 3 days and reduction thereafter,” the MeT department said.
Meanwhile, in northwest Rajashtan, hailstorms like conditions are likely to be in place. Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand will also see similar weather till May 30.
Delhi weather update
Delhi is expected to have a rainy day today with downpours beginning in the wee hours. The maximum temperature in the city will be 33 degrees, while the minimum has been predicted at 23 degrees Celsius.
Mumbai weather update
Mumbai will see an increase in humidity level at 74 percent. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 33 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Kolkata weather update
Kolkata will be welcoming a bright sunny morning The maximum and minimum temperatures on Monday are likely to be around 38 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius, respectively.
Chennai weather update
Chennai will have a humid day today with a humidity level of 80 percent. The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will be 37 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius, respectively.
