Weather Update: With no notable changes expected over Northwest India in the next 24 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a cold-wave warning. Over the following four days, there will be a steady rise of roughly 2 degrees Celsius. Dense fog brought on by the cold caused disruptions to train and air transportation. At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, visibility fell to 0 metres, leading to a number of delayed or cancelled flights. Moreover, there were reports of numerous trains arriving in the capital city being delayed.

IMD says there is a high likelihood of dense to extremely dense fog over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh; in some areas over Bihar; isolated pockets over West Rajasthan; and isolated pockets over Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan. Sub-Himalayan regions of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Odisha, Assam, and West Bengal. Cold day to extremely cold day conditions are probably in store for a lot of areas in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh; in certain areas in Bihar; in isolated pockets in West Rajasthan; and in isolated areas in Madhya Pradesh. In several areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, cold wave conditions are most likely to occur. There is a good chance that there will be isolated pockets of frost throughout Uttarakhand.
