Weather Update: Cold waves are presently wreaking havoc throughout most of India. In Delhi-NCR, the temperature is consistently dropping. Similar colder temperatures are being seen in several regions of Northwest India and remote areas of Madhya Pradesh, with temperatures ranging from 1 to 5 degrees Celsius.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department, numerous areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and west Madhya Pradesh had cold-to-severe-cold weather. The meteorological department further warned that isolated regions of Bihar, some isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, and certain sections of east Rajasthan may potentially experience cold wave conditions.
Delhi
As per the latest weather update, Delhi will be cold today as well, just like previous few days. The maximum temperature for today will be 17 degrees and the minimum will be 7 degrees. The day is predicted to be foggy with minimum sunlight coming in aid of the netizens.
Mumbai
Weather in Mumbai is predicted to be sunny throughout the day. Also, a similar weather trend is likely to continue for few days more. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and the minimum will be 22 degrees.
Chennai
IMD predicts that Chennai will relatively be similar and hazy effect will be there in course with sunny day. Chances of rain happening are close to nil. The maximum temperature, for today, will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 23 degrees.
Kolkata
No significant change in weather is predicted for Kolkata. Latest forecast states that Kolkata will be sunny and bright, though, the minimum temperature will be 14 degrees and maximum will be 25 degrees.

What is the weather update for other regions?
The metrological department forecast that dense to very dense fog is very likely to persist in some/many places during the night and morning hours over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh during the next 24 hours and over Uttar Pradesh during the next 48 hours; in isolated pockets thereafter for subsequent 3-4 days over the region. This is due to continuation of the prevailing light winds and high moisture near the surface over the Indo-Gangetic plains.
