Weather Update: The Delhi-NCR region is expected to have cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning, according to the regional meteorological centre located in New Delhi. However the city is warned with orange alert by the IMD. The Meterological Dept forecasted partly overcast skies, mild to moderate rain, thunderstorms and lightning in certain locations for Chennai’s weather. For Mumbai and its suburbs, the IMD predicted light rain, cloudy sky, with the possibility of thundershowers later in the day. Moreover, heavy rain fell in the nation’s capital, causing major traffic jams in a number of locations on yesterday. The rain fell during the morning and around midday.

Dehradun is expected to have heavy rainfall with cloudy sky in the daytime as per the IMD forecast. Moreover Lucknow would have also cloudy sky with thundershowers today. IMD further forecasts heavy to extremely heavy rainfall throughout Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, with isolated areas expected to see extremely heavy falls. Heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has been reported in certain locations across the Jammu Division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Goa, Maharashtra and Karnataka, according to the India Meteorological Department. Heavy rainfall has been reported across some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka, according to the India Meteorological Department.

In Chennai, a high temperature of about 36 to 37°C is predicted, while a low temperature of about 25–26°C is anticipated. The weather bureau predicts that Delhi’s highest temperature would likely reach approximately 34 degrees Celsius. However, Mumbai is expected to have a minimum temperature of about 26 degrees Celsius on Friday, and 24 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
