Weather Update: In several regions of India, including the southern and northern ones, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning today. However for upto next two days, monsoon conditions are expected to be active over central and adjacent northwest India. With heavy rain expected in the city and suburbs and the potential for extremely severe rainfall in outlying areas, the IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai today. However the same has been expected for Pune. It is predicted that there will be light rain in Delhi and that the national capital region will see typically cloudy skies and light rainfall over the following two days.

IMD forecasts heavy to moderate rainfall in Bihar. However there may be possibility of severe rainfall in Patna today. Many sections of Uttarakhand have been severely damaged by heavy rains, and the state’s capital, Dehradun, is also expected to see further showers over the next three to four days, according to the IMD. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for multiple states, including Jharkhand, whose capital city of Ranchi may also experience some moderate rainfall today.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that there will be likely isolated areas of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in some parts of Rajasthan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department further reports that there has been a lot of rain in isolated areas across the states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
