Weather update: The pre-monsoon season has brought thunderstorms across the country. Many regions are witnessing strong hailstorms. The first week of June will lash several parts of the country with rains. A fresh western disturbance is on its way from the Himalayas regions that is expected to affect Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. 

The Meteorological Department has predicted that moist winds coming from the Arabian Sea will further increase the humidity in the region. This could also increase rain and thundershowers in many parts of Rajasthan till June 4. 

According to the weather agency Skymet, rain will thrash Madhya Pradesh on June 4 and 5. Southwest and East Madhya Pradesh will remain almost dry.

Delhi weather update 

Delhi will have a sunny day today with temperatures going as high as 36 degrees. Delhi has recorded the wettest May in 36 years this year, as per IMD. The weather agency has predicted after the first few cold days, Delhi is expected to be hit by a heatwave for the most part in June. 

Mumbai weather update 

Mumbai will have a cloudy day today. Light rain and thunderstorms can lash several parts of the city. The maximum temperature will be 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is predicted to be 30 degrees Celsius.

Kolkata weather update 

Kolkata was greeted by fresh showers. Similar conditions are expected to remain on Sunday as well. The maximum and minimum temperature in Kolkata is expected to be 38 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively. 

Chennai weather update 

Due to rain-like conditions in the city, Chennai has gotten a much-needed respite from the heatwave. The minimum and maximum temperatures in the city will be 38 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius.
