Weather Update: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a severe heatwave is expected to sweep across most of the parts of the nation on June 3. The Southwest Monsoon is likely to progress over the Arabian Sea, Bay of Bengal and Lakshadweep during the next two days. It will affect Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, according to IMD’s prediction. In some areas of Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, rain and thunderstorms are also predicted for June 3 and 4. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted moderate rain or drizzle in Delhi.

IMD forecasts that there will be probably heavy rainfall in parts of Assam and Meghalaya. However, significant rainfall is expected in several areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, and West Bengal. There is a high probability of heat wave conditions in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. The same is predicted in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. There is a possibility of strong wind in the few parts of southern regions of the nation along with Andaman and Lakshadweep area. The central regions of Southwest Bob are expected to see the same weather with wind speeds ranging from 45 to 55 kmph. However rain is also expected in the capital city of Uttarakhand Pradesh(Lucknow). It may be accompanied by the thundershowers. The IMD has predicted partial cloudy sky in Patna and Ranchi. However, Ranchi can see the lightning possibility today as well.
