Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that on February 27, there will likely be a new period of rainfall activity over Central India along with thunderstorms, hailstorms, and lightning. At lower tropospheric levels, a cyclonic circulation is located over east Assam and the surrounding area. This weather pattern is expected to bring rainfall to a number of areas in northeastern India. In lower tropospheric levels, a trough crosses the Northeast Arabian Sea, south Gujarat, and the east-central Arabian Sea to reach Southwest Madhya Pradesh. On February 27, rainfall is anticipated throughout Madhya Pradesh and Chhatisgarh due to this meteorological event. According to IMD, showers, thunderstorms, and hailstorms are possible in Delhi.

In lower tropospheric levels, the IMD predicts a trough that crosses the Northeast Arabian Sea and south Gujarat and extends from the East Central Arabian Sea to Southwest Madhya Pradesh. It is highly probable that on February 27, 2024, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (up to 30–40 kmph) will be experienced over Marathwada, Telangana; on February 27, over south Madhya Pradesh, south Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Vidarbha; and on February 27, over Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Thunderstorm with lightning, gusty winds (40–50 kmph), and hailstorm is likely to occur in isolated locations over Madhya Pradesh; in isolated locations over Chhattisgarh; and in isolated locations over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Vidarbha, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetie, West Bengal.
