Weather Update: There’s a good chance of isolated areas of heavy rainfall over Kerala and Mahe. Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (30–40 kmph) over Kerala and Mahe are probably isolated, and there may also be isolated lightning strikes over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. Dense fog is most likely to be found in sporadic areas over North Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim. Squally weather is expected to dominate over the Southeast Arabian Sea, the neighbouring Lakshadweep and Maldives area, with wind speeds between 40 and 45 kmph with gusts up to 55 kmph. It is advised that fishermen avoid these areas.

Know about the pollution condition in Delhi

On today’s list of the ten most polluted cities in India, Delhi came in third. For the past few weeks, Delhi’s air quality has ranged from “severe” to “very poor.” On the other hand, after rain on December 3, the quality of the air improved. There were several places in Delhi with “very poor” and “poor” air quality ratings today, but no location had “severe” ratings. Jahangirpuri recorded the lowest air quality, with an AQI of 334. The Aya Nagar location in Delhi had the best air quality, with an AQI of 176, or “moderate,” overall.

Winter getting worse with snowfall

There is expected to be snowfall in the mountains of Jammu Kashmir and Leh Ladakh from December 11 to 13, owing to the activity of a western disturbance. Snowfall is a possibility in Himachal Pradesh as well. In such a scenario, the snowfall’s effects will extend to Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, and Western Madhya Pradesh the following week in addition to the northwest wind.

Weather Update: Know about the rainfall warning and dense fog

Over the next three to four days, there is a good chance of light to moderate rainfall in various locations, isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal, as well as Kerala and Mahe. There’s also a good chance of isolated, intense rain on December 9 and 10 over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. On December 9, there may also be isolated, extremely heavy rainfall over Kerala and Mahe. On December 12, there is also a chance of isolated hailstorms over Sikkim and West Bengal in the Sub-Himalayan region. On December 10 and 11, there was probably dense fog in isolated areas over north Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya in the morning hours.
