Weather Update: The weather in North India has changed; although the people were undoubtedly relieved from the fog and chilly wave, the rains have already begun to cause problems for the locals. In several areas of the nation, the weather is expected to get worse, according to the Indian Meteorological Department’s most recent report.
IMD has already issued a warning for heavy rain and snowfall in Himachal, Kashmir, and Uttarakhand while the plains are experiencing rain owing to the activation of Western Disturbance, which is also the cause of the ongoing snowfall on the mountains. Many locations in the plains also have a chance of hailstorms.
UP’s Amroha, Agra, Bareilly, and Lakhimpur Kheri all had hailstorms on Wednesday, while Gilgit Baltistan, Bihar, MP, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh may get rain in the next 12 hours. In Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Shimla, Mussoorie, and Pithoragarh, there may be rain and snow.
Delhi
The national capital will once again face the wrath of cold as the conditions are set to change today. The morning will also witness some fog along with chilly waves throughout the day. For today, the maximum temperature will be 19 degrees and minimum will be 6 degrees.
Mumbai
IMD has predicted that the city and its suburbs will remain partly overcast. Though, the temperature will continue to remain usual and it won’t be chilly. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees and minimum will be 21 degrees.
Chennai
No major change is predicted today in Chennai. Though, isolated regions could be affected by some clouds, while most of the region will remain similar to previous days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees and minimum will be 23 degrees.
Kolkata
As per the latest weather update, Kolkata will remain sunny throughout today. Also, the trend is anticipated to continue for few days more. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees while the minimum will be 20 degrees.

As stated by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Western Disturbance is expected to affect Northwest India beginning on January 28 and is very likely to cause light to moderately heavy rain or snowfall over the Western Himalayan Region as well as light to moderately heavy scattered to widespread rainfall over northwest plains on January 29 and 30 of 2023.
