Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall in Gujarat until September 20, with a possibility of more than 8 inches (204 mm) of precipitation, prompting a Red Alert for the region. The department has also predicted isolated instances of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the Gujarat Region and South Rajasthan today and tomorrow, as well as in North Konkan and North Madhya Maharashtra today. Additionally, there is a likelihood of mild to moderate fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning.

The weather forecast indicates widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms in the Andaman-Nicobar Islands, Jharkhand, Konkan-Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Coastal Karnataka, and Kerala-Mahe.

Scattered rain with thunderstorms is expected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Uttarakhand, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra-Kutch, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Lakshadweep. Meanwhile, isolated rain with thunderstorms may occur in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, East Rajasthan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Delhi

The national capital has predicted Delhi to remain sunny throughout the day. However, there will be patches of partially cloudy sky as well. Rainfall is highly unlikely. For today, the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees while the minimum will be 26 degrees with the humidity at 77%.

Mumbai

Light rains will continue to lash the city and its suburbs. No relief is currently on the cards for the region, with rain only getting more intense by the weekend. For today, the maximum temperature will be 30 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with the humidity at 84%.

Chennai

As per the latest weather update, Chennai has been predicted to remain mostly cloudy the entire day. Isolated thunderstorms will, however, lash the region in the afternoon. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with the humidity at 74%.

Kolkata

IMD has predicted intense rainfall and lightning in Kolkata. The sky will, thus, remain mostly cloudy. The rainy spell will continue for a few days more. For today, the maximum temperature will be 31 degrees while the minimum will be 26 degrees with the humidity at 90%.
