Weather Update: The IMD has predicted heatwaves in Delhi along with partly cloudy skies. It is also speculated that there will be surface breezes throughout the day in the city . According to the IMD, a number of states in North India would remain under red alert for the next several days before switching to orange and yellow alerts. The weather department said there will be a red alert in effect for the next few days for Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand including their capitals. Additionally, Punjab and Haryana will experience an Orange Alert as per the IMD forecast. In certain areas of West Bengal, there will be an Orange Alert.

According to the IMD, West Bengal( including Kolkata) and Sikkim will likely see some areas of heavy to extremely high rainfall. However severe to extremely severe downpour in certain areas of Meghalaya and Assam. The Meterological Department also predicts significant rainfall in certain areas of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Odisha. In certain areas of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh would have heatwave conditions. Moreover, the same is predicted for some areas of Jammu division, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.
