Weather Update: Severe Heatwave Conditions in Delhi-NCR and Lucknow, Check Forecast in Mumbai and Kolkata

Weather Update: According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), moderate rainfall is expected in the country’s northeast region. However the same is expected along with sporadic intense spells in Western areas. According to the IMD, there is a high chance of light rainfall in Delhi, which could provide some respite from the current warmth in some areas of the city. Along with strong surface winds, the IMD also anticipates scorching conditions in some parts of Delhi NCR.

Mumbai is expected to see cloudy sky and sporadic showers of rain, according to the IMD. With modest rainfall in the city, Mumbai’s temperature is predicted to range from a minimum of 26°C to a maximum of 34°C, averaging about 28.2°C today.

According to the IMD, Meghalaya will likely see isolated areas of severe to very heavy rainfall, with exceptionally heavy precipitation. In certain areas of Sikkim l, West Bengal(including Kolkata) and Assam, there has been significant to extremely heavy rains. However as per the IMD, there is a significant rainfall in certain areas of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Arunachal Pradesh. The Meterological Department stated that some parts of Uttar Pradesh(including Lucknow), Haryana, Delhi, Punjab, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand are very likely to experience heat wave conditions, possibly even severe heat wave conditions. There are scattered pockets of heatwave conditions in parts of Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and certain areas of Chhattisgarh.
