Weather Update: Shift in conditions on cards? Summers to soon show wrath, details inside

Weather Update: Since the last week of April, most parts of Northwest India have been experiencing consistently pleasant weather conditions. Maximum temperatures have been notably lower than usual. There has been an unusually high occurrence of Western disturbances approaching the Western Himalayas throughout April, and this trend has continued into the first week of May.

Currently, a fresh Western disturbance is moving across the Western Himalayas, which may result in rain and snow in the hilly areas. However, the plains of Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, and west Uttar Pradesh might experience isolated instances of rain and dust storms within the next 48 hours. These weather activities won't be widespread, so temperatures will gradually rise. Although we don't anticipate a heatwave in these states for at least the next week, the dry weather, clear sky, and bright sunshine may create a sense of an impending heatwave. The latter half of May is expected to bring frequent heatwaves, although occasional pre-monsoon showers may provide temporary relief by lowering the temperatures.

Delhi

The national capital is forecast to remain mostly sunny throughout the day. However, some partly overcast condition is likely in the evening in the isolated region. For today, the maximum temperature will be 38 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 24 degrees.

Mumbai

A mostly sunny day is on cards for the city and its suburbs. Though, the humidity is likely to remain at 78%. No change is predicted in the upcoming week either. For today, the maximum temperature will be 32 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees.

Chennai

IMD has projected partly overcast conditions for Chennai throughout the day. However, the afternoon is likely to be briefly sunny and bright. Humdity will be as high as 82% while the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees.

Kolkata

Kolkata is predicted to remain sunny throughout the day with no interference from clouds. No change is anticipated in weather trends. For today, the maximum temperature will be 38 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 28 degrees.
