Weather Update: In a release, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) mentioned the likelihood of snowfall and light rain in the Western Himalayan Region. Furthermore, states like Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Jharkhand have been given alerts for rains. The IMD has issued these alerts in addition to predicting continued hot and muggy conditions over Kerala today. Saturday’s minimum and maximum temperatures in the nation’s capital are predicted by the Meteorological Department to be approximately 8 and 25 degrees Celsius, respectively, under a partly cloudy sky. Additionally, IMD forecasted hot and muggy weather for Kerala on February 24. IMD predicts that isolated locations in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad may experience light to heavy rainfall or snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

According to IMD, jet stream winds that can reach 145 knots will predominate over Northeast India at a height of 12.6 km above mean sea level. On February 24, 2024, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall is highly likely to occur throughout Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Assam, and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. In lower tropospheric levels, a cyclonic circulation is located over south Telangana, with a trough connecting it to south Tamil Nadu. Another cyclonic circulation is located over south Chhattisgarh. Over the following few days, it is anticipated that the anti-cyclone at the lower levels over the Bay of Bengal would intensify. On February 24, 2024, isolated mild to moderate rainfall is extremely likely to occur over West Bengal, Odisha, and Jharkhand due to their impact.
