Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department has reported that conditions are becoming favorable for the Southwest Monsoon to withdraw from specific areas in northwest and neighboring western India within the next two to three days. During this period, East India is anticipated to experience light to moderately heavy rainfall, along with thunderstorms and lightning, with the potential for isolated heavy downpours, particularly in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Similar weather patterns are expected in Jharkhand and Odisha on Friday and Saturday.
From Thursday to Saturday, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands are anticipated to experience isolated, extremely heavy rainfall. In South India, rainfall is expected to be light to moderately heavy in certain areas, with the possibility of isolated heavy downpours, especially over Tamil Nadu and the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh through Saturday.
Additionally, coastal Karnataka and Kerala are likely to witness rainy conditions from Thursday through Saturday, while interior Karnataka will experience similar conditions from Friday through Saturday. On Friday, September 29, scattered heavy rainfall is predicted for Maharashtra, Konkan & Goa, and Marathwada. Furthermore, on Saturday, September 30, Central India is expected to encounter light to moderately heavy rain, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. There is a high likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall occurring in Chhattisgarh during this period.
Delhi
As per the latest weather update, the national capital has been forecast to remain generally sunny the entire day. No change has been predicted for the upcoming days. For today, the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees while the minimum will be 23 degrees with humidity at 43%.
Mumbai
Mumbai and its suburbs will remain cloudy the entire day. There will be showers across the region, periodically. For today, the maximum temperature will be 29 degrees while the minimum will be 26 degrees with humidity at 90%.
Chennai
No relief is presently on the cards for Chennai. The sky will remain cloudy and isolated thunderstorms will lash the region. For today, the maximum temperature will be 34 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with humidity at 69%.
Kolkata
IMD has forecast a relief day for Kolkata as the sky will be just partially cloudy. There is very little chance of rain taking place. For today, the maximum temperature will be 33 degrees while the minimum will be 27 degrees with humidity at 81%.
