Weather update: Will 2023 be the wettest May in history? Heavy rainfalls, thunderstorms continue to wreak havoc in many regions

Wettest May

Weather update: The month of May was observed with gutsy winds, thunderstorms, and moderate to heavy rains across India, courtesy of global warming. The month began with the country witnessing an unusually wet May Day. The untimely rain lashed the entire country, barring some parts, giving everyone a respite from the traditional May heat. However, mid-May did bring out the worst of summer with the temperature soaring above 45 degrees Celsius across some parts of the country including the national capital Delhi. But, due to a western disturbance, the last week of May saw rain wreaking havoc with the IMD issuing an orange alert for some states.
