Air Quality index improves in Delhi
After an oppressive smog that lasted for around two weeks, many in Delhi were relieved to wake up to bright, blue skies and lots of sunshine. The air quality index (AQI) for the capital was 219, a significant improvement over the 24-hour average of 437 recorded before. The significant improvement is due to the wind speed that is ideal for the dispersion of pollutants and the sporadic rain that has been falling for the past 30 to 32 hours before Diwali. The sky will be clear on Diwali but the AQI make again go up after Diwali.
