Weather Update: Yellow alert in 10 states including Delhi; check conditions in Mumbai, Kolkata, Lucknow

West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Meghalaya are under an orange alert, according to the India Meteorological Department.

Weather Update: According to the India Meteorological Department, fair to widespread, light to moderate rainfall with thundershowers is highly possible over East & Northeast India, while mild to moderate rain is predicted in the Delhi-NCR. Delhi has been placed on “yellow alert” for rain, by the weather Department. The highest temperature is anticipated to reach approximately 34 degrees Celsius. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts light rain for Mumbai and its suburbs with partial cloud cover by the afternoon or evening.

IMD reports that there is a probability of thunderstorms and lightning over Kolkata, accompanied with light to moderate rainfall. The Meteorological Department predicts that Uttar Pradesh will experience more rain in the near future. Lucknow, the state capital, will continue to be overcast today, with light to moderate rain forecast. The India Meteorological Department has issued an orange signal for West Bengal, Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, and Arunachal Pradesh due to heavy rainfall today.

The India Meteorological Department predicts that isolated areas in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura will likely see heavy to extremely severe rainfall. IMD forecasts significant rainfall in certain areas in many states like Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. The same is predicted for many parts of Telangana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim.
