Weather Update: Yellow alert in Delhi, Mumbai; Check conditions in Dehradun, Patna, Lucknow

Weather Update: For the next twenty-four hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted further rain and thunderstorms in Mumbai and its suburbs. The sky will be partly cloudy, with light to moderate rain and thunderstorm activity expected throughout the city. In addition, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for the Maharashtra districts including Thane, Palghar, and Mumbai, indicating that light to moderate rains are expected in certain areas of the state. An orange alert has also released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in anticipation of heavy precipitation across Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Manipur, Kerala, Assam and Meghalaya.

With strong showers predicted for the next two days and wet spells anticipated for the next four, the Delhi-based Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a yellow alert. The nation’s capital is expected to see mostly cloudy skies with the chance of light showers and thunderstorms, according to the weather prediction. However, in Delhi, the maximum temperature is probably going to be around 33 degrees Celsius, and the minimum is going to be around 25 degrees. The weather department forecasted heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, along with a few light showers over Bhopal, the state capital. According to a weather advisory sent by the Meteorological Department, there is a chance of light rain and thunderstorms with lightning in some parts of Pune. The Bihar’s capital city, Patna, may also see cloudy skies with light rain over some places. Meanwhile, similar conditions are expected in the Lucknow with light to moderate rainfall in remote areas. As per the IMD forecast, the capital city of Uttarakhand may have few spells of rainfall today.

According to the IMD, there is a high probability of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several areas of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. However, heavy rain is expected in some areas over Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Odisha, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, according to the IMD forecast.
